That matters most on repair and replacement decisions, which are a big part of the plumbing services we provide. A toilet with a worn flapper or fill valve needs a part, not a new toilet. Signs of a hidden leak in your home

The leaks that do real damage are the ones you cannot see. Watch for these plumbing problems:

• A water bill that climbs without a change in how much water you use
• Warm spots on a tile or concrete floor, which can point to a hot water line leaking under the slab
• Stains, bubbling paint, or a musty smell on a wall that shares plumbing with a bathroom or kitchen
• The sound of water moving when every fixture in the home is off

Leak detection is about narrowing it down in order: fixtures, then irrigation, then the yard line, then lines in the walls and under the slab. Expansive clay soil moves slabs across much of Central Texas, which puts stress on pipe underneath, so slab leaks are a real part of our leak repair work. Water pressure, valves, and fixtures

A surprising number of repeat plumbing repairs trace back to one cause: water pressure that is too high. Many newer subdivisions are fed at high pressure from the street, and a pressure-reducing valve is supposed to bring it down before it reaches the house. When that valve fails, faucets drip, toilet fill valves wear out, supply lines burst, and the water heater ages early. Outdoor faucets deserve attention too. Central Texas freezes are short but hard, and a frost-free hose bib can still split inside the wall if a hose is left connected. Well water, softeners, and backflow

Outside city limits, many homes in our service area are on private wells, and Central Texas water is hard whether it comes from a well or a city main. Hard water leaves scale in fixtures, valves, and water heaters, so a softener is often worth it. On a well, though, where the softener ties into the system matters. The order is pressure tank first, then any filtration, then the softener, with outdoor lines usually branched off ahead of it. Backflow prevention protects your drinking water from being pulled back out of an irrigation system, a boiler, or commercial equipment. We install backflow assemblies and test them. Testing requirements vary by water provider, so if you received a notice that a test is due, send it to us and we will schedule service.

Remodel, new construction, and code upgrades

A remodel is the best time to fix plumbing you have been living with, because the walls and floors are already open. We reroute supply and drain lines, move fixtures, replace old pipe while it is exposed, and make sure the finished work passes inspection. For new construction, we work with homeowners, business owners, and general contractors from underground rough-in to setting fixtures, built to code the first time.

Code compliance upgrades come up when a home is sold, renovated, or simply old. Missing vents, incorrect drain slope, unapproved materials, and a water heater without proper relief valve piping are the kinds of items we correct.
